From the early Gerry Anderson TV series, first screened during 1961 and 1962, which was the forerunner of Fireball XL5, Stingray and Thunderbirds.

With red upper body and wings, and silver lower body and base. White 'Supercar' transfers on the sides, and a large black 'SUPERCAR' on the base. The cockpit has a clear plastic canopy, with a 'Mike Mercury' pilot figure inside.

This example is in poor condition, having suffered from 'zinc pest' caused by impurities in the casting alloy. The base is particularly affected, with the front part missing and the remainder cracked and buckled, reinforced with glue. The wings have also been glued in place (they are supposed to be retractable) and one has a small chunk missing from the trailing edge. The clear plastic canopy is cracked and a piece is missing, as is the rear aerial and the front plastic pointy bit. Having said all this, it is still recognisable as Supercar, and it is a rare item!

Length: 122mm.
