Britains 128F Fordson Major Tractor

Ref: 28257

Excellent. Box Good

Price: 165.00

This was the first Britains tractor, cast in lead and finished in dark blue with burnt orange metal wheels and rubber tyres. 'Fordson' decals in red lettering on the sides and above the radiator. This one has the later metal pin steering column, rather than cast. The front axle has a pivot so the wheels can move vertically, but they are not steerable. Complete with lead driver figure with movable right arm and a black broad-brimmed hat. His shirt is green, trousers dark brown and with a red belt and black boots.

The tractor is in excellent condition, with a just few small paint chips on the underside. The drawbar has lost its clevis pin and the exhaust is somewhat bent. Decals and tyres are excellent. There is some paint loss from the driver's hat and left arm, and his movable right arm is loose and tends to fall off - but at least it's not missing!

The model comes in its original green lidded box, with colour illustration on the label. There are a couple of dents in the lid caused by the exhaust and air cleaner, and a retailer's stamp on the underside with a price of 8/- (8 shillings) - quite expensive at the time!
