Britains 7F Tree and Gate

Britains 7F Tree and Gate

Ref: 34722

Fair, Unboxed

Price: 9.00

This model first appeared in 1911 when it was issued as part of the Boy Scouts encampment set number 162. At that time it was Britains' first scenic model. The base is marked Copyright 1.12.1910. It then appeared in 1928 as number 19F, with the addition of a boy on a swing. Finally, after production was suspended during the war, is was reissued on its own as 7F, Tree and Gate. I am assuming this one is the latter, but it may well be much older!

The model consists of a leafless tree, base and fencepost as a single casting, with a separate hinged 4-bar gate. This example has gate and hinges intact, but appears to have been partially repainted at some point in its life.
