This Corgi Major is a fine model of an interesting subject - an Ecurie Ecosse racing car transporter. The real vehicle was one of the first custom-built racing car transporters, built in 1959 in Scotland on a Commer chassis.

The model is finished in metallic dark blue with silver radiator and trim, and orange 'ECURIE ECOSSE' wording on the sides. The interior is yellow. The transporter has capacity for 3 racing cars, plus a workshop and a cab large enough to accommodate the whole racing team! The workshop is accessed via the sliding side door, and is fitted out with a workbench complete with bench vice. The top deck and rear ramp can be lowered to permit loading; when raised, the ramps are locked firmly in place by a spring-loaded mechanism.

This model also features a steering mechanism which steers the front wheels as you press down on one of the front corners of the vehicle as it is pushed along. A well-engineered model!

This one is complete and in good working order. There is some paint chipping, mainly around the edges of the top deck and roof. The number plates and other labels are from a Corgi accessory pack. One of the rear tyres is a new replacement, the others appear to be original; one of the front ones has some cracks.
