Good, box Fair

Price: 28.50

This fine Corgi Major is red (of course!) with silver deck, yellow interior and cradle, and grey base. The twin booms of this fire-fighting and rescue unit can be raised and lowered independently by turning the metal knobs on the side. The cradle automatically remains level throughout. Fully extended, the top of the cradle reaches an impressive 370mm from the ground. The booms can also be swivelled. The unit has 4 metal retractable stabilisers and suspension. There are 5 firemen in the cab, plus another operating the spray nozzle in the cradle. In a polystyrene box with illustrated cardboard lid and a leaflet giving a technical description of the real vehicle.

This example has some paint chipping on the cab roof and around the edges, but is complete and original. The elevating system works; the lower mechanism is a little worn, so the knob needs to be pushed in against spring pressure as you turn it, to prevent it coming loose from its mounting. All the figures and the foam nozzle are present, and the tyres are excellent. The box lid has moderate general age wear, and the polystyrene tray is somewhat discoloured. However, it is complete with its original leaflet.
