This model of a Volkswagen 1200 'Beetle' in East African Safari Rally trim is packed with features! The front wheels are steerable, and are operated by turning the spare wheel on the roof. The bonnet opens, as does the rear engine cover which reveals a detailed silver engine. Finished in orange-red with silver plated metal base and bumpers and brown interior (left hand drive version). There is an East African Safari badge on the bonnet, racing number 18 decals on the doors, and a 'Nairobi' label in the rear window. Other detailing includes jewelled headlights and rear mudflaps.
In near mint condition; the top bar of the front bumper is a little bent, but this is the only significant defect. The model comes with its original box and inner display stand. They are in very good condition, the outer box having light wear around the edges and small tears to the outer flap hinges. On the rear of the stand are histories of the East African Safari Rally and the VW Beetle. The model is complete with its charging rhinoceros figure.
