Price: 46.50

This is the earliest version of the Corgi James Bond Aston Martin, released in 1965 - not to be confused with later versions and re-releases! In gold with red interior and 'wire' wheels with black tyres. There are several operating features: a rear bullet-proof screen pops up when you press the exhaust pipe, and switches on the side operate the extending front machine guns and overriders, and of course the famous ejector seat. Press the switch and the roof opens, the passenger seat flips up, and the 'baddie' passenger gets a nasty surprise!

This unboxed example is in played-with condition, with paint chipping around the edges and the almost inevitable mark on the roof from where it hits the bodywork when it opens. There is also a hairline crack in the windscreen. Nevertheless, all the operating features still work; the bullet-proof shield needs a little manual assistance to make it pop up. The James Bond driver figure is still in place and two original bandit figures are supplied. The suspension on the driver's side at the front has 'gone' and the original tyres have aged; one of the rear ones has a flat spot. The number plates are from a Corgi Accessory Pack and could easily be peeled off if desired.

Overall a complete and reasonably presentable example of this popular model at a fraction of the price of a mint boxed example.
