Fictional crime fighter 'The Green Hornet' was originally created for a 1930s radio programme, and he and his assistant Kato drove around in the 'Black Beauty.' This Corgi is a model of a real vehicle created for the Green Hornet TV series in 1966, based on a Chrysler Club Imperial.

In black with green interior and green tinted windows, the model has a large hornet decal on the roof. Kato is at the wheel and the Green Hornet is sitting in the back, firing a gun out of the window. This figure can be rotated by turning a knob on the underside of the car. The radiator grille conceals a missile which can be fired by moving a lever on the side: this also opens front machine gun flaps. Another lever opens the boot (trunk) and launches the radar spinner concealed within. Also featuring 'Infra Green' headlamps!

This is the early version of the model with spun wheel hubs, and it is in fair-to-good complete condition with some playwear around the edges. The missile and radar spinner are modern replica parts, and they work very effectively - mind you don't get hit in the eye! However, the flip-down radiator grille doesn't stay shut very well - a common problem with this model. The tyres are original and the rear ones have flat spots.

A good opportunity to acquire this highly collectable item for a fraction of the price of a mint boxed example!
