Corgi 339 Mini Cooper 'S' Monte Carlo 1967

Ref: 30723

Good, Box Poor
Price: 43.75

This is a model of the 1967 Monte Carlo winner, a Mini Cooper 'S' with 1275cc engine. The 1967 Monte Carlo rally was the third to have been won by a Mini, in this case driven by Rauno Aaltonen of Finland.

The Corgi model is correct in many details, including the licence plate and racing numbers. As well as jewelled headlamps the model features four jewelled spot lamps set into the grille, the unusual front mudflaps, and a silver sump guard, essential with the Mini's low ground clearance. On the roof is a chrome plated plastic roof rack with 2 spare wheels. The wheels are cast metal with spoked hub design.

This example is in excellent condition with only slight rubbing to the paintwork on raised edges. The decals are excellent too, with just a tiny nick in the front number plate. A number of additional decals have been applied to this model; although non-standard they look quite good! The tyres are original and one of the rear ones has a slight flat spot. The box has some wear and tear; it has lost one end flap and one inner flap is detached. There is also a rather strange sticker on one side!
