Post buses are used around the world to combine deliveries with a bus service, mainly in rural areas where small passenger numbers would make a normal bus service uneconomic to run. They were introduced in the UK in 1967 and at one time there were over 200 routes, but they were gradually withdrawn with the last ones operating in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland as late as 2017. One of the problems with the Post Bus in less remote areas was that it took so long to get anywhere!

This Corgi model is in red, with yellow roof and black base and grille. It has opening rear doors and an interior in black. 'Glazed' headlights and orange indicators. 'Royal Mail Post Bus' on the sides in yellow with royal insignia.

As new, there is a small box rub on the edge of the bonnet where the casting is slightly rough. In a very good window box which has light creasing and has faded slightly at the front.
