This is a post-war issue of the 36g Taxi, which was originally introduced in 1936 and is based on an Austin 12/4 taxi. Red body with black roof and mudguards, and with grille, headlights and meter picked out in silver. The matt black base has the front seat, driver and steering wheel cast in. This is the second type casting, with the rear window filled in. The black ridged wheels have smooth black tyres.
In played-with condition, the black roof and mudguards have been repainted. The tyres are excellent and are assumed to be replacements, and the axles are rust-free although the front one is very slightly bent.
