The Dinky 38c Lagonda first appeared in the June 1939 Meccano Magazine, but was omitted from later pre-war editions and did not actually go into production until 1946. This one is an early example, with pre-war solid steering wheel, and is finished in light grey with darker grey seats and silver grille and headlights. The black wheels are the pre-war smooth type, but with the thicker post-war axles.
This is a nice example, with light general paint chipping, heavier around the top edges of the doors and folded soft top. The axles and base are rust-free. The rigid windscreen is assumed to be a replacement as it has rounded corners and lacks silver edges. The white tyres may also be non-original; although not recent, they are quite soft.
