This vehicle was designed by Gerry Anderson of Thunderbirds fame, for a proposed TV series called 'The Investigator'. A pilot episode was filmed in 1973, but the project did not proceed any further, so Dinky released the model as a general military vehicle in dark green instead of the red 'civilian' version of the film.
It has a black plastic base, roll bar, aerial, gun, tow rope and exhaust. The interior is light grey with driver figure and black steering wheel. At the rear is a tow hook and two military green petrol cans. There is a star decal on the bonnet and logo labels on the roll bar.
The silver metal radar scanner acts as a wind-up key for a clockwork mechanism. When a lever at the side is moved, the radar rotates and a flap opens at the front of the car, from which sparks appear; this is achieved via a milled wheel rubbing against a flint, like a lighter.
In excellent condition, albeit a little dusty. The mechanism still works, although the amount of sparks produced could probably be increased by fitting a new flint. The illustrated box is good-to-excellent with a little wear mainly around the edges of the flaps.
