This is the second of the early toys made by Lesney Products from 1948 onwards, and which were the larger-scale forerunners of the 'Matchbox' series. The Cement Mixer was modelled on a mixer being used on a building site down the road from the Lesney works.

Finished in green with red wheels, the frame is a single casting, with a separate yoke, handwheel and 2-part drum. The drum can be tilted by turning the handwheel.

This example is generally in very good condition, apart some discoloured areas on the edges of the motor housing. This appears to be where some paint rubs have been touched-in. The axle is rust-free.

The last photo shows the model beside the number 3a Matchbox version released in 1953, to give an idea of size.
