This is a finely detailed model of a British mail coach, in the standard livery of maroon, black and scarlet. The cabin has a brown interior, gold lamps and 'No.14' and 'VR' (Victoria Regina) on the sides in gold. On top of the carriage there are two rows of front seats, occupied by the driver, complete with whip, and four passengers. On the roof is some brown luggage, and standing at the rear is the guard. He was the only Royal Mail employee on the coach, and his main job was to protect the mail which was stored in the compartment below him. To this end he carried two pistols and a blunderbuss, and was also equipped with a horn as modelled here; this was used for warning other road users and toll-keepers of the coach's approach.

The coach is pulled by four diecast horses: white and dark, medium and light brown. They have black harnessed and the red drawbar is connected to the swivelling front axle. The model has metal spoked wheels in scarlet.

In mint condition, packed in a styrofoam box with red and gold sleeve, and with historical notes inside.
