The Ford Consul Classic was a daringly-styled car from the early 1960s which used the same 'reverse rake' rear window as the popular Ford Anglia. This look did not translate well to the larger car, and the Classic did not enjoy the same commercial success. It was also prone to rust, so these cars are a rare sight today.
The Corgi model is in beige with salmon pink roof and yellow interior. The bumpers, headlights, grille and rear panel are silver and the rear lights are picked out in red. The wheels have shaped spun hubs, black tyres and suspension. This model has an opening bonnet (hood) with silver painted engine; the bonnet opens when you press down on the front suspension.
This example has an assembly defect at one front corner, resulting in a gap between the bumper and the headlights. The paintwork is excellent; there is a small chip on one front wing and three very small ones on one side. The box is in excellent condition.
