CIJ

CIJ (Compagnie Industrielle du Jouet) was a prominent French manufacturer of toy vehicles until its demise in 1965. The company was founded in 1920 by Fernand Migault, and until 1934 was concerned with the exclusive manufacture of model cars for Citroën. CIJ went on to widen its range of high quality models and competed effectively with Dinky, Quiralu, Norev and JRD. In 1964 CIJ acquired the JRD range and as well as new premises, but folded the following year. Norev acquired the CIJ brand in 2007 and relaunched 13 of the original CIJ models under their own name.
