Dark grey cab and chassis with silver grille, headlights and bumper, and dark blue rear body and crane. White 'DINKY SERVICE' lettering on the sides. Black tinplate base. The crane hook can be wound up and down by turning the handle on the side of the jib. Red cast ridged wheel hubs and smooth black tyres.
This is a nice played-with example. There are a few chips on the cab, and some paint loss on the edges of the rear body and on the tinplate crane jib. The crane works, and the cord and hook appear to be original. The tyres are in good shape and the axles are rust-free.
The model comes in its early plain orange lidded box, with black print on the lid ends. It is quite worn, with rusty staples, a split at one corner of the lid, and a price of 5/6 (five shillings and sixpence) written on top.
