This is one of a number of French Dinky models that Meccano imported in the 1960s to be sold as part of the UK Dinky range. In this model, the body is the French 24d/524 casting, but with an English baseplate and wheels. The real-life Renault Dauphine Minicabs were operated in London, briefly, by Welbeck Motors during 1961.
Finished in red, with silver bumpers and headlights. Advert decals in various colours: 'MECCANO' on the sides, 'HP Baked Beans' on the front of the roof, and 'Britax Safety Belts' on the rear. 'Welbeck Motors Minicab' on the sides of the roof. Spun metal wheels with black tyres, and black tinplate base.
This one is in generally excellent, the only significant damage being some loss to one of the roof side decals. The tyres are very good, and the axles rust-free. The box has some wear around the corners and edges, and one of the end flaps is detached.
