A classic British vehicle and a classic Dinky Toy! In red with silver trim, with hoses picked out in light grey. The two-piece cast metal ladder is silver, and it can be raised, swivelled and extended. Twin metal brass-effect bells are mounted on the roof and the model is fitted with a tow hook. This is an early issue with '555' on the mottled black baseplate; the model was renumbered to 955 in 1954. The red metal 'Supertoy' wheels have grey tyres.
This example is in good-to-excellent condition with a few paint chips and light rubbing to raised edges. The tyres have hardened somewhat with age, but there are no cracks. The base and axles are rust-free.
