In military green, this handsome Scammell recovery tractor has six wheels, driver figure, and operating crane. Turning a handle on the side winds the hook up and down, and there is a realistic ratchet mechanism. There are small blue, yellow and red REME (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) markings front and rear.
This model is in played-with condition, with paint chipping along the edges, particularly on the cab roof. The crane works and the cord appears to be original. The hook is the later single-piece type, and appears to be original too. The decals are largely intact, a little loss from the rear one, and the tyres are excellent.
The model comes in its original Supertoys box with blue and white striped lid. The box has some wear and internal staining, but no splits. A price of 9/- (nine shillings) is written in pencil on one end. There is an internal packing piece, but it is home-made, not original.
