Bright red with light grey interior and tow hook, silver grille and headlights, and gloss black base. This is an early issue without patent number or tow guide on the base, and without metal springs on the opening doors. The wheels are black plastic with suspension.
This example is generally excellent, although there are two small chips on the top edge of one rear wing and a couple of smaller ones elsewhere. There is also a patch of paint loss on the base. The type E2 box has some general ageing with creasing on one plain side and wear to the flaps.
