This small-scale clockwork car has a green tinplate body and unpainted tinplate base incorporating grille, headlights and bumpers. Its shape is reminiscent of the 1934 Chrysler Airflow Coupe. The wheels are bare metal, and the front ones are driven by a clockwork motor which can be turned on or off by a lever at the side. The motor is wound from underneath; although the key is missing, it does appear to work. A lever at the rear of the car steers the rear axle, so the model can be set to run in a straight line or in a circle.
On the underside is stamped 'L.B. LTD LONDON' (referring to Lines Brothers), 'MINIC' and 'MADE IN ENGLAND'. It is assumed that this model was produced sometime between 1935, when Lines Bros registered Minic as a trade mark, and about 1940.
Generally in fair-to-good condition, with some surface corrosion and a missing key.
