This classic Corgi model was the first of the Corgi Chipperfields Circus models, introduced in 1960. Based on an International 6x6 truck, this vehicle is finished in red with raised blue lettering and blue metal wheels. The crane mechanism has a yellow housing with a silver-grey tinplate jib and silver metal hook. The hook can be raised and lowered by turning the handle at the rear, and the jib can also be raised and lowered with the spring-loaded rear 'ratchet'. All six wheels have suspension, and the truck is equipped with a plastic tow hook for towing the 1123 Circus Cage, with which it formed Gift Set 12.
This is a played-with example with a few chips around the edges. There is an area on one side where there is some oxidation and the lettering there has discoloured. The wheels have discoloured too. The crane is in good condition but needs re-stringing; the original hook and re-stringing instructions are included.
The box is poor-to-fair, and appears to have suffered some water damage. Two corners of the bottom part are split, and one end of the lid is missing. However, it does still have its internal card packing pieces, as well as a Corgi Model Club slip and instructions
