A lovely example of this classic model, in red with black interior. Bumpers and headlights are silver plated and underneath there is a separate gold-coloured exhaust system. The bonnet hinges forward to reveal the silver-plated engine. The doors and rear hatch, which are glazed, also open. Inside, the front seats tip forward and the rear seat back slides. There is a detailed silver dashboard with gold steering wheel and an 'E-TYPE JAGUAR 4.2' decal on the rear hatch. Wheels are metal wire spoked with black tyres and suspension.
In superb condition, very near mint with gleaming paintwork. There is a tiny chip at the bottom edge of the windscreen on the passenger side and micro rubs on one bonnet louvre and the rear edge of the passenger door. The model is in its original packaging, which is designed so that the model can be removed from the rear without damaging the 'bubble'. There is slight wear around the edges, and a price of 11/6 (eleven shillings and sixpence) is written on one of the card 'wings'.
