This is a model of the 1967 Monte Carlo winner, a Mini Cooper 'S' with 1275cc engine. The 1967 Monte Carlo rally was the third to have been won by a Mini, in this case driven by Rauno Aaltonen of Finland.
The Corgi model is correct in many details, including the 'LBL 6D' registration plates and racing numbers. There are also Monte Carlo Rally decals front and rear. The model features jewelled headlights plus four jewelled spot lamps set into the grille, front mudflaps, and a silver sump guard, essential with the Mini's low ground clearance. On the roof is a silver plater roof rack with two spare wheels. This is an earlier example with spun metal wheels.
This example is in good condition with light rubbing on raised body lines and some loss of plating from the roof rack. There is a little loss from the edge of the from number plate and a few holes in the door decals. The other decals are very good. The tyres are original and have hardened somewhat with age, but are not cracked.
