Dark grey cab and chassis with silver grille, headlights and bumper, and blue rear body and crane. White 'DINKY SERVICE' lettering on the sides. Mottled black tinplate base. The crane hook can be wound up and down by turning the handle on the side of the jib. Red cast ridged wheel hubs and smooth black tyres.
This is a very nice example with bright paintwork and very few marks; there is a small chip on the side of the crane and a few light rubs on the edges of the rear body sides. The hook and cord appear to be original; there is some corrosion on the winder handle. The tyres are excellent too.
The model comes in its early orange lidded box, with orange and white label with greyscale illustration. The staples are rusty, but otherwise it is in good condition for its age. A price of 5/7 (five shillings and sevenpence) is written in pencil on one end.
