Dark tan-brown cab and chassis with silver trim, and mid green rear body and crane. White 'DINKY SERVICE' lettering on the sides. Mottled black tinplate base. This early issue has red cast ridged wheels and smooth black tyres. The crane hook can be wound up and down by turning the handle at the side. .
This is a play-worn example with general paint chipping, mainly on the cab and crane jib. There is some rust on the hook and winding mechanism, but the axles are rust-free and the tyres are good. The hook and cord appear original, but the cord has been shortened and the hook has some blue paint on its weight,
The model comes in an early orange lidded box with orange and white label with grayscale illustration. A price of 5/6 is written in pencil on one end.
