This delightful pre-war set consists of 44a AA Box (hut), 44b AA motorcycle Patrol, 44c AA Guide directing traffic, and 44d AA Guide saluting. The AA box is printed tinplate with movable 'LONDON-GLASGOW-LIVERPOOL' signs on top. The figures have brown AA uniforms with caps and black boots; the standing figures are cast in lead. The motorcycle is black with silver detailing, yellow sidecar with AA badge on the front, and white rubber wheels. The set comes mounted on a pictorial background/stand, inside a blue lidded box with set details printed on the ends of the lid.
In complete but played-with condition. The saluting guide has heavy paint loss, but the other is very good, as is the AA box. The motorcycle has some light paint chipping, and paint loss from the rider's hat and shoulders. The sidecar's front mount is broken, which does not affect its appearance on display but could easily be repaired with glue if desired.
The card background has some general ageing and a small tear by the saluting figure's feet. The outer box has faded, has a stain/surface tear on top, and a split along one edge of the bottom part. A price of 1/11 (one shilling and elevenpence) is written in pencil on the underside.
