This is the first issue of the Guy van, in red with silver grille and headlights. 'Slumberland Interior Sprung Mattresses' on the sides in gold and black, with smaller 'By Appointment' lettering with royal crest. 'Slumberland' logo on the front of the rear body, opening doors at the rear. Red ridged wheels with smooth black tyres.
A lovely example with bright paintwork and undamaged decals. There are some small chips on the edges of the mudguards and a few little rubs, including on the rear door handles. The tyres are original, and two of them have slight flat spots.
The blue box has an orange and white wrap-around label on the lid, with a grayscale illustration. There is slight age wear but no splits or tears. The blue has faded somewhat. A price of 5/11 (five shillings and sixpence) is written in pen on top.
This example has very good paintwork; there is a chip on the roof and a few small ones around the edges. The lettering is largely intact but has faded in places. The tyres are excellent; there is some rust on the axles.
