A classic British vehicle and a classic Dinky Toy! In red with silver trim, with hoses picked out in light grey. The two-piece cast metal ladder is silver, and it can be raised, swivelled and extended. Twin metal brass-effect bells are mounted on the roof and the model is fitted with a tow hook. This is an early issue with '555' on the mottled black baseplate; the model was renumbered to 955 in 1954. The red metal 'Supertoy' wheels have grey tyres.
This example is in good-to-excellent condition with some paint rubbing/chipping on raised body lines. The tyres are in very good shape. There is some surface rust in the ladder mounting and tow hook, and a small amount on the base too.
The blue lidded box has an orange and white wrap-round label with a greyscale illustration of the model, and is in excellent condition with no splits or tears, just some rust on the staples.
