This striking and unusual vehicle was modelled by both Dinky and Corgi, but while the Corgi version was arguably better engineered, the Dinky version has a missile that can actually be fired!
In military olive drab with silver headlights and Royal Artillery markings front and rear. The twin cabs have clear glazing, and one of them has a driver figure. A handle at the rear may be turned to erect the missile - this one is the later version with plastic gears. The missile is held onto the cradle by two spring-loaded clamps and can slide up and down so that it can be lowered onto the launching platform. Once clicked into place, the missile can be launched by moving a metal slider at the rear of the platform. The platform, which may be towed behind the erector vehicle, has four stabiliser feet that can be raised and locked into position for transport. All wheels are metal with black treaded tyres.
The transporter itself is in lovely, very near mint condition, and the launcher trailer is excellent with just a little paint loss on the towing eye. The rocket has a little wear to the decals but the rubber nose cone is in exceptionally good condition, with some discolouration but no significant perishing. The firing mechanism still works; be careful, it has a very powerful spring! The model comes in its original Supertoys box which is in fine condition with no splits, and complete with the two internal packing pieces and the original instruction leaflet. There are some tape marks on the underside. A price of £1/8/9 (one pound eight shillings and ninepence) is written on one end of the lid.
