This is the first version of this popular model, in dark blue livery and with grey plastic wheels. The white plastic shutter door opens and closes. With three-line 'Pickfords' decals.
This example is excellent; there are a couple of small chips on the edge of the roof and some rubs on one rear wheel arch. The decals are very nearly perfect and the rear door opens and closes as it should, and the axles are rust-free..
The type C 'New Model' box, issued 1961-62, has some wear to the edges of the main flaps, and one inner flap has been repaired with tape on the inside, but is hanging by a thread. There is also slight creasing in the corner of one face.
