When it was launched in 1963, Matchbox claimed this was the first model saloon car to have opening doors. This is a fairly early example, with maroon bodywork silver bumpers, grille and headlights, cream interior and black base. The wheels are silver plastic with 24 treads.
This example has light wear around the door openings, and the doors are a different shade from the rest of the car; this is common with this model, as the doors were painted before assembly. There is some superdetailing to the rear lights and probable touch-ins on the sides, and thee is a small amount of surface rust on the axles. The model displays well though.
