A very early example of the Matchbox Quarry Truck, in orange with grey tipper and gold trim radiator and headlights. The wheels are grey metal, double at the rear..
The paintwork is excellent, with just light rubbing on the edges of the tipper. However, the tipper has been glued to the chassis so it does not tip. Nevertheless, the axles are rust-free and the model displays well. It comes complete with its original type A box, which is quite a rare item now because it was withdrawn in 1954 when it was replaced by type B, with the word 'MOKO' on the front changed to plain text. Unfortunately all the flaps are missing from one end, and there is some creasing and tape marks.
