This classic Spot-On model is red and black, with grey base and cream crane. The cab is also cream, with clear glazing, black interior and cream steering wheel. There are 'Jones' decals on each side of the jib and on the body sides and rear. The wheels are red metal with black tyres, double on the rear axles, and there are two spares at the rear. The base has 'Made in the United Kingdom' cast in; later ones had 'Made in Northern Ireland'. The crane slews, and the jib and hook may be raised and lowered, held in position by ratchet handles. This is an earlier issue with diecast winding wheels.
This example is fair-to-good, with light paint chipping and rubbing on the front edge of the cab roof. However, the paint on the bonnet and rear weight box has been touched in. Also one of the diecast winding wheels has broken off; it is included, so it may be possible to glue it back on (later versions had winding handles instead, as the wheels were prone to breaking). The cord for the hook has been replaced. The decals on the jib and rear have some loss, the others are intact. The 'WTB 117' number plates are also intact.
The lift-off lid box has some age wear but only one split in the corder of the lid, and is complete with its two card packing pieces. It also contains the colour collector card, 'Fleet Owners Club' leaflet, and instructions. Note that the instructions illustrate the later-type winder handles.
