This Schuco model looks like a smaller cousin of Schuco's Grand Prix Racer. The Micro Racer is in diecast metal, red with a white rubber nose, black cockpit and exhaust manifold, and silver steering wheel and exhaust pipe. Racing number 7 appears in the sides in black. It has a clockwork motor with a motor/freewheel selection lever in the cockpit. The front axle may be pre-set to steer to the right by rotating the end of the exhaust pipe. The wheels are silver metal with grey rubber tyres.
This one has some paint chipping and the tyres have hardened with age, but it is in full working order. Unfortunately the removable key is missing (replacements are available from various sources - a small Minic key will fit), but the motor has been tested and it is very speedy!
A very nicely engineered model.
